Laughing so hard I can't breathe! I WORE these in junior high school. And hated them then! What was up with the little strap around the foot??? It drove me crazy. Would always pop off then your pant leg would be sort of flopping around your ankle.
I hate to say this... in the winter I wear stirrup pants under my ski bibs. That way I don't have fight with trying tuck everything down in snow boots. Forgive me!
haha!! this was the best!! Thanks Step, I now know what they are. My education is complete!! I think the comment left by thirtysomething was absolutely hilarious!! Amazing what your blogs do to people!! -signed- still rolling on the floor laughing
This is second only to the "woman's onsie". That crazy shirt that snaps at the nether-region. It was popular for a moment in the nineties, which caused grief for anyone who had more than one drink and had to go to the bathroom.
Oh how convenient! This way your pant legs will always stay down and straight- never again will they go bunching up around your knees! You know, since so many of us have that problem!
I LOVED stirrup pants. Especially when worn with my ginormous shoulder pads back in the 80s (when I was 3). I felt so tiny waisted and long long legged. Yessireee.
ok someone shoot me, i like these (well, not these exactly - but the modern style in the shops now). if i was 18 again, i would wear these. sorry c, can we still be friends?
those should stay buried in the 80s where they belong. Best worn with long t-shirts or big floppy jumpers and thick socks over the top of the stirrups. ew.
I'm Carolyn. Once a lawyer now a housewife. Yes I married a house, he is pretty cute. We have a baby girl and two little bearded dogs and we live in Sydney, Australia. Before, I spent my days carrying on in the courtroom and now I neatly fold towels and quickly change nappies. I line my herbs up in alphabetical order and I take 5 weeks to take the Christmas tree down. I am shamefully mad about shopping and I think of myself as quite the expert when it comes to shopping for children.
I try to be crafty and impose my hideous sewing on friends as gifts from the heart. I like baking, I have been known to throw a piping bag out the window. I am a horrid cynic, I have a lot to say about a lot of things, but mostly I ramble. This blog will cover the ins and outs of my life, domestic science, parenting, baby fashion and all.
They're so hot....I've never wanted anyone more than I do right now
ReplyDeleteAhhh, my eyes. My beautiful eyes. How they sting. They burn.
ReplyDeleteDamn you C, now I need new retinas!

I had a pair of those in bright orange. Not a good color for me in any light. We're talking 1980's here, of course.
ReplyDeleteThe work wonders in a ski boot, riding boots, and not so much on the fashion runway.

ReplyDeleteThey look really cool with some jelly shoes and leg warmers. Really.
ReplyDeleteThey are soooo late 80's! I remember when I wore them and thought I was soooo hot ;-)

ReplyDeleteI disliked them first time around when you wore them with white court shoes. ewwh

ReplyDeleteI had some green (!) ones in the late 80s. Complete with those feral chunky socks and hiking boots. I was so hot!
ReplyDeleteHad the hot pink ones here! I'm with Dee, they looked smashing with the boots and offsetted the width and height of the big,big hair of those days!
ReplyDeleteI love them! If I wasn't shaped the way I am, I would totally wear them.
ReplyDeleteI have an award waiting for you at Dani's Daily Drop. Make sure to drop by and grab it!
ReplyDeleteOh my my, I can remember my mum owning a few pairs of these...wait I think I had them as a kid too oh no!!
ReplyDeleteThere is something for you over at my blog ♥

I hate to say it - but they're coming back!!! I saw them in two different stores the other day while I was out. Couldn't believe it.
ReplyDeleteI'm ashamed to admit that I had a couple of pairs too :)
