Cuggle?

"Mama cuggle now?" This is how my Tinker asks for a cuddle. It is the cutest little sentence and I get to hear it about a million times a day, never tiring of it.

She loves to hug her toys, her soccer ball, her sippy cup, our dogs, and today a new one- my shoes! She said "oh cuggle shoes, nice!" have I mentioned how cute she is?!

Anyway it got me thinking about that creepy guy who offers free hugs in the city. Who hasn't seen this guy? He was even featured in a music video!

New age positive thinking types adore him. He is their new loved up Che type character. I'm surprised there aren't masses of t-shirts with this bloke's head on them really.

You can read about him here if you aren't up to date already.

Yes I'm a cold hearted cynic! Am I what the rap singers would call a "hater?" I don't know. I just find that kind of stuff really cringe-worthy and I'm not into it at all.

Just for a laugh because it is Friday and I like to give you a Fast Friday Funny each week. I have found you THIS video. It really is good. I love that this guy has decided to take the mushy free hug guy on and the free hug guy really hates it. Gold!

Enjoy your Friday and your weekend!

xx

  1. I am not one much for random hugging with complete strangers either. Haters unite!

  2. Cute! (Tinker, NOT Cuggle Guy). It reminds me of the ad for Cuddly fabric softener... "Mum, fanks for making my fings cuggley."

  3. Oh my gosh! LOL Ok, let's just say I'm actually sorta a fan of the Free Hugs idea- I think it's kinda neat. But that spoof video is hilarious! I can't believe that woman at the end! It must have been staged! HaHa!

  4. I've decided "cuggle" will enter into my dictionary of fun and cute words. My current non-word...fantabulous!

My little sister was the same way as your cute daughter. She sounds seriously too cute...as if that's possible!

I want to philosophically like the hugger guy, but he creeps me out too. I'd probably run, if he tried to hug me!

  5. This video of the deluxe hugs is too funny. I am with you--all of this new age, touchy feely stuff just seems wrong. I'm all for helping people feel better, but I wouldn't hug that guy.

And yes there is nothing quite as precious as a cuddly child.

  9. Is it sad that I use the word cuggle too? I bet it's not as cute when I say it as when Tinker does...hurumph!

  10. Do you think you will have the same feeling when Tinker grows up? I don't think my mom would get exited any more, if I ask her to hug me even 10 times a day :( I wish I wouldn't change as we grow up...

  11. How can one not love a cuggle, especially from one as cute as Tinker.

A cuddly child is one of the most delightful thing on earth.

If you are lucky she will be a lifelong cuddler.
My 12 years old son still love a cuddle on the couch whilst vegging out.
He used to call the huggles.

I would be totally freaked out if someone I didn't know came up and tried to to hug me, more than likely they would end up on the ground writhing in agony before I has a chance to ask " What the beep are you doing?"

  13. Great video! When my son was little he would say to me "Ma Ma hold you" that's when I knew he needed a cuddle. I would love to hear him say that now, but at 18 I'm the last person he wants to cuddle with. Enjoy your cuggles!

  16. This is a very sweet and funny, and I agree that getting hugs from strangers is unnerving.

I have my own blog that have the same nature of discussion, about being an housewife. I have just started writing about my mishaps.
    You can find it here.

  17. I know my daughter used to call ketchup "kepitch" and it was a very sad day for me when she ceased. Hold onto it with both hands while you can.

On the note of hugging, you have to wonder sometimes what the internal monologue of people is. What exactly goes through a person's mind as thy attempt to hug a perfect stranger. Something to ponder on.

  19. Hello. I just found your blog and it's really cool! I'm going to become one of your followers because I too am a cynic and a 'hater' and I too would never like to come across this 'free hug' man!! Noooo Waaaay!! I hope you have a very lovely weekend.

  22. Yeah, I' a shaker, not a "hugger" when it comes to strangers, and in the cases of most men even if they are friends. Unless a guy friend is like a "brother from another mother", I am not down with hugging them.

Tinker seems like a lucky girl for having a mom who appreciates her as much as you do. People the world over have children all the time, but so few appreciate what they have and the delicate nature of a parent child relationship.
