This is just a quick post to say I have found the perfect seller to collaborate with for Stepford Dreams' very first prize giveaway. I'm awfully excited! Will be back with details in the next few days, stay tuned.
Now for a quick laugh or lesson depending on your feelings about folding clothes. This is a video teaching people how to fold a t-shirt:

I know, I know I should stop posting videos about folding! I just really like things to be neat on shelves. Sad I know.
Ok I'm off to treat myself with an extremely early night. Once upon a time a treat might have involved something tangible like a new outfit, a nice dinner, a day at the spa. Now it is getting a really long night's sleep. Small pleasures!
Tell me, what are your small pleasures?

An early night with the kids also off to bed early would be even better. Hard to go to sleep when they come up the steps screaming bloody murder over brushing their yellow teeth!!
ReplyDeleteYour checking out folding videos??? I think you need to scrap together some time for that day at the spa.
Or...cut back on the antidepressants!!!
Antidepressants?! No I just thought the video might be funny. I don't need to watch videos to fold t-shirts, I worked in retail at high school. Lesson #1 is always how to fold t-shirts!
ReplyDeleteUrgh, they make it look so easy and neat.
ReplyDeleteI however, am not hat co-ordinated, nor can i choose the exact same spot to pinch every time, thus my shirts come out different sizes!
I prefer the flip fold...makes it even simpler. You could even teach Miss T to do it ;)
Enjoy the early night
Love your blog. My pleasure is to curl up with a good book.
ReplyDeleteMy small pleasure? ANY TIME TO MYSELF!!!
ReplyDeleteThat video is great! *runs off to go fold t-shirts*
ReplyDeleteMy simple pleasures are (not neccesarily in priority order):
ReplyDelete1) spending some time in the garden weeding, planting, then admiring how neat it all looks :-)
2) spending an hour with a good book.
3) spending an afternoon with my 20 year old daughter having lunch, shopping, and girl talk.
I don't think it's sad at all. I watch these videos too, however I just can't get motivated enough to spend the time to transform my wardrobe to look like something out a home & lifestyle magazine.
ReplyDeleteMy small pleasures these days are getting an early night like you & taking an epsom salt bath after gym!
Also I couldn't help notice that you currently have 666 followers!! :S
Hey, that is so handy for me!!!! I am going to give it a go. I bet it is harder than it looks :)
ReplyDeleteWow, you actually intend to tell me you don't have to smooth the folds, (6 the way I fold), as each portion of the tee is put into place!! Just imagine what I could do with all that time I've spent. Thank God for a Southern USA mom who taught me how to waste time.
ReplyDeleteLoved the video, there is no better laugh than when we laugh at ourself!!
Simple pleasures? I adore painting my fingernails (can't have them painted due to my line of work), I think there is nothing better in the world than having someone play with my hair. Sleeping is one of those pleasures I feel I get to forgo due to the 14 month old that thinks as soon as mom is asleep its time to be awake, I swear she has an alarm hidden somewhere that goes off as soon as I am really asleep.
ReplyDeleteI think my small pleasure could be just folding any old way and shove them out of my sight.
ReplyDeleteI like the new look of the site! Very chic and pretty!
ReplyDeleteSmall pleasures? Time with my husband. We both work too much and I'm in nursing school so its hard to get our schedules to match. I like to lay on the couch and let him play with my hair. Ah, the life :)
my simple pleasure:
ReplyDeleteWhen all the bath towels have been folded according to the Rules of Mom... and have been placed according to color (and by shades of color, too)... and when I open up the bathroom linen closet I smile. Organization and order at my fingertips!
I have three small girls and one of my small pleasures is to get lunch early for the twins and then get them busy with a craft so that I can actually make myself something warm and nutritious for lunch! Last week it was just a pasta with pesto and some baked chicken, but it tasted like heaven!
ReplyDeleteAlso putting the girls to bed early and getting that magical hour of adult conversation with my husband before I fall into bed from exhaustion!
I have to admit nothing stays folded properly for long around my house. (sigh)
my little pleasure is...ANY TIME TO MYSELF!!!
ReplyDeleteAt the moment I am promising myself a couple of happy hours wandering round the charity shops but I might as well be asking for a fortnight in the Bahamas because it's so unlikely that I will have any time to go out alone...it's a shameful day when the highlight of my life is looking forwad to a thrift store spend-up. Sigh.
Small pleasures? A hot bath, sipping a wine cooler in my robe on the patio... I could go on and on!
ReplyDeleteSmall Pleasures: Baby giggles, chocolate, hugs and kisses.
ReplyDeleteWhen I worked in retail we had a T-shirt folding square, it was glorious, I should have swiped one of those when I quit. Oh well...
That was a pretty entertaining video. I am so going to go try it right now :-)
ReplyDeleteSmall pleasure for me would also be getting the kids to bed early, but I would stay up scrapbooking or watching tv :-)
I am a fantastic folder, due, like you, to retail experience way back when. Too bad I rarely apply it to my own closet, which is in a state right now....
ReplyDeleteMy pleasures: reading a book in peace; Sleeping the whole morning, someone else having done the cleaning (more of a dream than a pleasure nowadays). As to folding those T-shirts,I read "Good House-keeping" as other people might read an erotic magazine, if you get my meaning: just so as to fantasize. But I do enjoy reading your blog - another pleasure, actually.
ReplyDeleteSmall pleasure hmm... anything that I can get to do without hearing "MOM!"
ReplyDeleteGreat Blog!
ReplyDeleteI love to go running, but also a night in bed close to the hour the babe goes to bed is never bad either!
