Feeling crafty?

*image from clothkits.co.uk*

Thanks to a comment by one of my new readers "mom seeks life " and the lovely Wynona from Ivy Designs who found the link, I thought I'd do a quick post about Clothkits.
This cute little pair of overalls (aka dungarees for the Brits) could be yours, all you need to do is buy the kit and follow the instructions!
What a fab little gift for someone who likes making their own things but doesn't have the creative talent equal to the likes of Wynona. The kit comes ready for you to get sewing, or as the site says you can buy them ready made (but that would be cheating now wouldn't it?)
I love crafting kits! I'm hopeless at cutting and I need to be spoonfed when it comes to sewing or I go off on very very ugly tangents. I really enjoy making things for my little girl, because she is so young I can get away with dressing her in my creations before she realises her Mama is a dork and the clothes I make are wonky!
Anyway thanks again Wyn and Mom Seeks Life for mentioning Clothkits.
Find them here:
Edited to add an Aussie link thanks to Miss Rosie:
I think I may develop an addiction to Larkmade. What a great online store, thanks again for the heads up, 5 mins into it and I have already broken my online shopping ban. I bought two kits, nobody tell my husband!

Have a great Sunday. xx

  2. That is the cutest overalls I have seen for a while. What type of sewing maching do you have? If you have any problems, give a shout and I'll try to help you out. I wish I could find something like that in the "States".

There I am mentioning Clothkits for the first time in way more than 20yrs (since I used to run around in their groovy 70's patterned flares stitched together by my mum)and all I had to do was a Google search! The picture is gorgeous and I will absoultely be checking them out. Thank you so much for finding them...I had no idea they were still in existence. Long live Clothkits! My mum better dust off her sewing machine...

  13. It sounds as though you've successfully reinvented yourself, from lawyer to mum. Enjoy your little girl while she is little. My two girls have both grown up and left home (sigh). I've also been busy reinventing myself. I was a teacher and active mother. Since my youngest left home, I've become a teacher and an role is now less time consuming.) I write crime fiction, which is great fun. I was lucky enough to find a publisher really quickly and am now counting the days until the first book in my series hits the bookshops in June. If you're interested, please come over to my blog. If you comment, you'll be invited to my Virtual Book Launch on the blog. Anyone interested in reading is welcome to join the blog party.

  14. Cool idea, sadly not enough time to do something like this- much prefer my clothes pre made.

  18. Carolyn I have a Larkmade dress kit! It's still sitting on the sewing table untouched after I opened it, read the instructions and thought it looked too hard...
I'd love the VW overall kit, it was sold out back in February too :(

  19. Oh don't say that Kir, then I'll definitely not be able to do it! You are far craftier than I am. The overalls are so sweet.

Is wonky a funny word? I didn't know goody was a funny word til I met my husband, he thought it was very funny that I would say 'oh goody lets go then'.

  20. Love you blog... just found you and wanted to say hi... Hope you'll pop over and see me too... I totally understand about going from being a professional person to a full time mommy, while not as glamorous I think at times much more rewarding ;-)

  21. I loved your post. The write-up on fashion and wisdom touched a cord. I feel exactly the same way. My daughter, all of 5, has taken a fascination to Hannah Montana (Thanks to some nutty kid in school).

I connected in a big way with your 'about me' section.
