I spent ages trying to come up with a prize that somehow reflected my funny little blog and I decided it had to have something to do with the domestic science that is housewifery and it had to be something pretty and it had to be something handmade. Don't worry it is nothing I've made. I'm not that cruel. That would be a boobie prize.
I was as pleased as punch a while back when I found Heather one of my lovely readers who has an awesome blog called Bebe & Alice and a fabulous Etsy Store by the same name. I love how every single thing she sells is a beautiful handmade treasure reflecting Heather's love of re-using and recycling gorgeous things. Heather says:
Each item that I create is unique. Since each item is primarily made from recycled, vintage and repurposed materials I am restricted in making repeats. The beauty in that restriction is that I am always creating unique items for unique people! I am energized and inspired by other artists that enjoy piecing together the past, present and future to create their art! My favorite type of design is Rework, which uses unwanted clothing and turns it into a stylish fashion piece of entirely different nature.
My gorgeous giveaway is this pretty Bluebells Half Apron below:
About it Heather says... Something about this apron makes me feel like I finally arrived at the dream farm I've imagined since i was 11 years old. The color is dreamy, the fabric is soft like the down of the resident goose and the design came straight from my great grandmother's hope chest.
It seemed the perfect choice for my first giveaway and I really hope you love it as much as I do. There is something lovely and wholesome about pottering about in an apron while you debate whether watching 2 episodes of Teletubbies in a row will ruin your child's IQ or whether you can pretend not to see the dog wee on the floor while you finish your last sneaky piece of store bought brownie that you pretended you made. This apron is perfect for the Stepford Dreamer in all of us.
To win all you need to do is check out Heather's store and leave me a comment below telling me which item you like best and why. I will put your names into Tinker's hat and she will pick the winner. If you choose to come over here and bribe her with a biscuit then so be it. I will be like an Balinese gaol guard and turn a blind eye.
Winner to be announced on Friday. x
I adored almost everything bebe and alice had to offer but the renew half apron made out of recycled fabrics - was at the top of my list of favorites. The blues are so fun and flirty and I LOVED the old jeans pocket. So cute! *I say as I cross my fingers*
ReplyDeleteI am a HUGE Etsy fan and love when I am directed to a fun little store. I love the scarves Heather makes. The Birds in Flight is so fantastically creative!!! And the little scarf, neck wraps with the ribbons and buttons are so fashion forward- love it. And the apron in the giveaway is absolutely beautiful. It has that laying on your grandmother's bed, sun and a warm breeze filtering through the curtains, soft smell of lavender sachets she keeps her linens in kind of feel. What a great way to do your first giveaway!!!
ReplyDeleteBest-
Baylee
I Love The childs wrap dress. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteA very fitting giveaway indeed. "Here Tinker, I have a bikkie for you!"...
ReplyDeleteThank you for the opportunity. I love discovering Etsy sellers and bebe and alice has some lovely items. I've linked to her World Atlas stationary set from my blog. What a dream it would be to receive a handwritten letter in that stationary in the mail.
The aprons are lovely as well, especially the one you chose for the giveaway. How cute is the baby apron! And the Sucker for Spring and English Countryside handbags. Hang on, I'm not even half way through her store as I type this.
HOPSCOTCH! *dies*

Does a wannabe stepforddreamer chose something for the life she fantasises about (providing nutritious baked goods for her family of 3 with the blueberry hill apron), the moments she’d love to have peacefully alone (picnic-ing in a park with the simple and sweet lunch tote) or the item of pure indulgence that would wrap everyday moments in luxury?
ReplyDeleteNo contest: birds in flight scarf it is then!
What a fun giveaway. I'm liking Etsy a lot lately. I think my favorite (though it's hard to choose) is the Birds in Flight scarf. It is such a creative idea and so stylish and would be a lovely conversation starter. I bet it would attract many compliments. The other one I really like a lot that was hard to choose against was the Sophia Lauren Apron and Handbag set. The bright colors are so stunning, and the bag has such an interesting unique shape. I really liked that one too! Lovely idea!
ReplyDeleteI also am a big etsy fan! It is the easiest place to find natural, animal free fiber products.
ReplyDeleteI like the renew half apron. Super cute! It caught my eye right away.
I think the baby vera half apron gets my vote. My only problem is I have an 18 month old little boy whose father would kill me if I put him in such a pretty apron. Better get working on number 2..
ReplyDeleteWhile I love the half aprons (I've always wanted one, actually!), and the cute purses (especially the black one!), I would have to say the Earth Lover's scratchbook is my favorite. I have kept journals for 22 years and anything new to write on, to place pictures and keepsakes inside, is wonderful to me!
ReplyDeleteI love the Simply Swedish handbag, and I just starred the Birds in Flight Scarf Art in my favorite items queue, where it will sit while I dream about it and rationalize a scarf purchase when summer begins in three weeks ; )
ReplyDeleteI love the aprons and I would be over the moon to win one! x
ReplyDeleteSophia Lauren pinny, very me being a curvy girl.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun to find new artists on Etsy! I loved the Recycled Vera Bradley catalog stationary set and the Scarflette-neck corset. I may have to buy that Scarflette--as my next purchase for myself! So unique!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this fun giveaway!
My first comment! Love your blog. Love prizes! Loved loads on Bebe & Alice. The kids wrap dresses...too cute. Also all the aprons very lovely for the fleeting Martha Stewart moments in my life!
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff! My fave is the Sophia Lauren half apron. (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=14123926)
ReplyDeleteMy problem would be that I would still get covered in all types of stuff with that cute little apron. I think I need a full smock - like the ones you had to wear in kindy! I was making some cookies yesterday and I somehow ended up covered in cocoa.
Oh there are so many beautiful things in Heathers store. After much deliberation I am settling on the English Countryside tote bag as my fave, it reminds me of Delftware. I also love the kids aprons :o)
ReplyDeleteOhh, such a beautiful store.
ReplyDeleteI love the 'So Nerdy It's Cool rolltop lunchbag and cloth napkin set' but i am torn i also love the 'Cowgirl Colette -Half Apron-UPCYCLED FABRIC'.
When you put all the names in the Tinkers stylish hat , i hope you pull out my name !

I love her English Countryside Shoulder Bag:) This apron is GORGEOUS!!! Thanks for the chance:)

This is such a fun idea! I would have to say my favorite item is the Small Town Handbag. I love the over sized clasp button that's the center of a floral-print flower on a plaid handbag. Totally my style, love it. It may be a little dangerous for my bank account that you have introduced me to this website. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Caroline half apron! It is so girly and cute with the pleats. But, I love the apron that you are giving away too. It is so cute and fun!! Thanks for the chance :) Wish I lived closer so I could bribe Tinker with a cookie ;)
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! Love the Blueberry Hill Half Apron on her Etsy shop! Way too adorable.
ReplyDeleteMy first post from another Heather!
ReplyDeleteI really love the Coffee Lovers scratchbook and the nature photo envelopes - I love anything to do with paper and stationary really!
Thanks for a fab blog - your little stories always make me chuckle behind my computer :)
What a fabulous giveaway C! Thank you so much, and for sharing a new etsy seller. You know how much I love this sort of thing. My favourite from her shop would be the kids aprons.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
x Amanda
Thanks so much! I just entered the wild world of blogging and love that I found yours. Heather's store was great, I liked the The Sugar, Spice, Everything Nice Half Apron. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteAs a notoriously messy baker, I would love to win a apron! The Sugar, Spice, Everything Nice half apron matches my style perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI have always liked Heather's Earth Lovers Scratchbook, and I especially love her concept for them!

great to see Heather's work on here!
I love the scarflette neck corsette. I have a long neck and am a huge fan of such neck wear! Love your blog too! Jo xox
ReplyDeleteI do love the aprons. The birds in flight scarf is pretty special too.
ReplyDeleteI love giveaways! Thanks for entering mine too.
Ooo my favourite would have to be the Baby Vera Half Apron, love the colours and the florals. So cute and I even love the dress on the little girl wearing it in the pic!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW, Tinker LOVED the biscuit I bribed her with. ;)
I love the lavender lovebirds...I am such a sucker for love...but I also loved the maids a milking apron. I am a big fan of aprons while cleaning or cooking...it's functional but also flirty! LOL.

Definitely the scarflette. it is cute and unique.
ReplyDeleteI love the apron giveaway too
The scratch book got my attention. Made from recycled materials, a unique journal. I love it!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with all of the wonderful etsy shops there are!! Bebe & Alice is divine, I could not decide which I loved more, the Simply Swedish handbag or the Maids-a-Milking vendor apron! They are so going on my wishlist! :) Thank you
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the children's full apron. It's precious! My daughter loves to be in the kitchen with me but it's hard to find a small girl a great apron. It's gorgeous!
